The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) has secured foundation degree awarding powers.

As the only FE college in the region and one of nine in the entire country, TCCG now has the authority to co-create bespoke higher level courses with key employers.

TCCG principal Raoul Humphreys said the Group was proud and delighted to be given the backing.

Development director, Tessa Counsell (pictured) spearheaded the application and said receiving the status was a major milestone for education in the South West.

‘We have achieved a huge amount in widening participation locally and we have made a significant contribution to the growth of working age adults who hold degree qualifications in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly through our partnership working with universities,’ she explained.
