Looking at a four year period, the report from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) on behalf of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), noted the College has trained more than 5,600 students, delivering 73% of the construction qualifications across the two counties.
The annual report covers the construction skills gap and is part of a wider action plan looking at the construction strategy, employment opportunities and aspirations as an enabler to local economic growth.
Justin Olosunde, technology director for Cornwall College, said: ‘We have seen a massive increase in the number of students wanting to learn a trade.’
