Devon and Cornwall issued with multiple snow and ice warningsThere will be bonnets, eggs, music, balloons, and even dogs featuring in the association's annual event over the bank holiday weekend.
As usual there will be the free-to-enter Easter Bonnet Competition for girls and boys in their own classes, and also adults are being encouraged to enter into the spirit of the event.
The judging, at midday, will be followed by an Easter Parade around the town led by Samba Kernow. Entry forms are available at The Shoe Shop and Mavericks in Fore Street, and at Serendipity in Bay Tree Hill. For the first time there will be a Fancy Dress Dog competition, with seven categories starting at 2pm, with entry forms available from Bittersweet in Fore Street, or turn up in advance of the event. Each class is £1 to enter, but money will go to two charities: the St Petrocs Society, which helps the single homeless in Cornwall, and Bowel Cancer UK.
The Easter Bunny will be around with free chocolate eggs for all the children, and there will be entertainment to include the model-making man and his balloons, and a commentary and music throughout the event.
The Traders' Association has also announced that, weather permitting, it will be staging a repeat of last year's popular fashion show, with the catwalk running up through the centre of Fore Street. Models will be wearing outfits available in the town's shops.
