Liskeard Athletic 2 Callington Town 1 Liskeard manager Martin Hodge was upbeat about this victory in a close fought match. 'We've now gone eight games without a defeat, and the confidence is slowly coming back. 'But it was a struggle as we were missing eight players. 'We're hoping to finish in the top four, but its the old cliche, we've just got to take it a game at a time.' Hodges fielded a patched up side that included Johnny Niblett, making his first appearance after breaking a leg, and the return of Dave Sammells. Liskeard had the better of the first half and were rewarded when Martyn Hake ran on to a ball through the middle and held off his defender before shooting first time into the corner of the net. Hake then hit a Callington post as the Blues took charge of the game. Just before the break Jon Hake curled in a superb shot from the edge of the penalty area after receiving the ball from Nick Senior. Callington picked up the pace in the second half, and with 20 minutes remaining Hodge replaced the tiring Niblett. Liskeard held firm, but with five minutes remaining Adam McPherson reduced the arrears by firing in from the edge of the penalty area after a Truscott cross was only partially cleared. Hodge will not be at Saturday's visit to Wadebridge Town and Jon Hake will take charge. Ryan Powell returns from injury along with Chris Goldthorpe, who missed the Callington match after being snowed in at Edinburgh airport.
