THE first race of the Cornwall Grand Prix Road Running series has been hosted by Carn Runners.

This year there will be 14 races culminating in the Cornish Marathon in November – hosted by East Cornwall Harriers. To qualify for an award competitors must complete at least eight of the races with two being over 10 miles.

Nineteen East Cornwall Harriers made the 50-mile trip to Camborne.

The race was, for the first time, fully subscribed with 600 runners from Cornish clubs keen to kick off the new series on this fast but testing 10-mile road course.
