Playing down the slope and with a strong wind at their backs, Polperro had territorial advantage for most of the first half of this Division Four match but lacked the killer instinct to convert pressure into goals.
Pensilva's sprightly young forwards had the home defence well beaten for speed on the counter attack and thoroughly deserved to go into the break two goals up courtesy of Mike Rendle and Cohn Treeby.
Matthew King put Polperro back in contention with a well taken goal 20 minutes into the second period but Rendle took advantage of some sloppy defending to quickly restore Pensilva's two goal lead.
To their credit, Polperro kept battling and a misjudged clearance from a Pensilva defender glanced off Paulo Gosling's carefully coiffured 'barnet' and into the net to keep the game alive but a very able looking Pensilva side held on to secure all three points.
