Methodists in Cornwall will be marking (tomorrow) April 1st in an unusual way this year. The Methodist District have organised a special resource day in the village of Bugle for Christians from all over Cornwall.

The local brass band will be playing to welcome the 200 delegates as they arrive, and the Bishop of Truro has written a letter of greetings to be read with his warmest wishes. The delegates will be guided round by teenagers from the Church Youth Club dressed as clowns!

Because of the 1st of April date, the subtitle for the evangelism resource day is 'Fools for Christ' which is a direct quote from the bible, or alternatively 'Comic Belief', which isn't!

There will be a choice of 16 seminars running through the day, with subjects ranging from 'Evangelism and the disabled' to 'Door Knocking and Open Air Preaching'. The aim of the day is to empower and encourage the participants. At lunch time there is to be a 'Gospel Cabaret' which will include a christian escapologist, a gospel folk singer, puppets and a christian magician!

A 'Mission Market' will make full use of facilities at the local chapel, along with the sunday school and local primary school buildings, which have also been booked for the day.

There is to be a resources exhibition with over 20 organisations represented. Everyone who attends the day will receive a free evangelism pack.
