TOM Matthew, a pupil at Mornick school near Callington, has reached the final of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) Awards, in Communications and Performance. Tom has qualified to join 39 other finalists in London for a day of competition and prize giving on Saturday, September 11. He is one of the top five candidates in the country, and he will compete for a cash prize against entrants from other UK and Irish schools. Tom Matthew said: 'I was ecstatic and felt so pleased that all the hard work had paid off. My tutor said she could 'hear' the grin on my face!'
