A FATHER of the bride will have extra cause to celebrate on his daughter's wedding day – his own wedding. Tomorrow, Ron Richards from Callington will walk his daughter Emma down the aisle to marry her fiance, Russell Wall. Once Emma and Russell have tied the knot, it will be Ron's turn to wait at the alter for his bride, Michelle Gifford. Ron said that the decision to have a double wedding was totally unplanned: 'I was getting married to Michelle,' said Ron, 'And so I said to my daughter "Isn't it time you got married?"' 'Her partner said that it wouldn't be a bad idea and it just went on from there really.' The suggestion was raised four months ago with both couples living in the same flat in Callington. Michelle's daughter, Suzanne, and Emma and Russell's children, Tristan and Natasha, will be among the bridesmaids and page boys at the double wedding, due to take place at the Hannafore Point Hotel, Looe. Ceremony The unique ceremony will be carried out by registrar Penny Prisk. 'It really is a case of "Love is All Around" as the song goes,' she said. 'I have carefully chosen the words and readings for the ceremony itself to reflect the family occasion. Now I just have to ensure that I marry the right groom to the right bride!' Despite the excitement, family man Ron is playing it cool. 'I'm not worried about either wedding, I'm sure everything will be fine,' he said. 'I just hope that the weather is good.' The four newly-weds will not be living under the same roof for long, as Ron and Michelle plan to move to Australia in January.
