MORE than £1,000 has been given by businesses to help put a town in bloom for springtime. A total of £1,430 has been given by companies for flowers around Callington. Some of the plants have been put in troughs which have been supplied by Orchid Plastics and sponsorship signs are being made for the areas. Portreeve Denise Winfindale paid tribute to all who supported the scheme at this week's town council meeting. 'I'd like to thank all businesses that have sponsored the plants around Callington,' she said. 'We have had good reports about the daffodils around and the other plants and we are grateful to have this sponsorship as not many towns can afford to do it.'
