The Ashes have recovered from losing their first four games of the campaign to remain undefeated in their last eight matches, including winning their last five.
However, it was the visitors who took the lead in this contest when a mix-up in the home defence let in Adam Osborne.
'Man-of-the-Match' Luke Dodderidge levelled the scores when he chested down a Jack Lowden cross before volleying the ball into the net.
And it was Dodderidge who crossed for Carl Powell-Thomas to head in for a 2-1 half-time lead.
In the second period, a great run by
Dodderidge ended with his cross being met by the diving Aaron West.
Dodderidge then cut the ball back for Powell-Thomas to make it 4-1, before James Scott fired a 35-yard effort in to the top corner of the net for number five.
Saltash took their foot off the pedal to allow Keith Cornish to snatch a late double, the first coming from the penalty spot, but the hosts held on for the three points.
