Two young players of Saltash Town Band have been setting a brilliant example to their fellow players despite being unable to go to weekly band rehearsals due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

Brother and sister and Neythen and Lowena Powell-Jones, aged just eight and nine respectively, have taken the opportunity to wear their brand new uniforms for their own live-streamed performances for family and friends.

The siblings have become a great hit, although their parents are hoping that they don’t grow out of their jackets before the band start performing again!

Band chairman Martin Thomas said: ‘During the lockdown, Saltash Town Band are trying to keep spirits high by keeping in regular contact via social media. We have now started a regular video meeting at our regular band practice time of 7.30pm on a Friday.’
