The League held the first, second and third rounds of the Doubles Competition on Friday. Four venues were used and 56 pairs entered. Some excellent darts took place and the highlights were 180 max from husband and wife Jane and Phil Kinsman both in the same leg at Tideford RBL. Another high score came from Rodney B's Dave Vosper, who hit a 177 at the Rodney.

At the Tideford RBL Coryton Arms' Jane and Phil Kinsman got through to the last eight, joined by Callington CC's Rob Liddicott and Bernard Pridham, the latter pair gaining three good wins over Notter Bridge's Hedley Hooper and Colin Gould, Rising Sun's Peter Lee and John Henn and Rodney B's John Fluhrer and Norman Yarde.

At the Rodney, home pair Dave Callaghan and Peter Jameson got through. They had two good victories over Rodney B's Peter Matten and Dave Vosper and Callington's Andy Barriball and Ian Webber. They were joined in the last eight bt Rising Sun's veteran pair Paul Henderson and Jim Morris.

At the SWMC, fancied pair Rodney B's Bob McCabe and Steve Collins went out. They were beaten by Brunels Phil Lopez and Jamie Elliott who in turn went out to quarter finalists SWMC B's Dennis Briggs and Eddy Maton. They were joined as quarter finalists by Brunel's Gary Doney and Sheila Boyd.

At the Brunel, competition favourites Rodney A's Mike Fluhrer and John Cook completed three wins to qualify for the last eight. They were joined by SWMC B's Albert Harris and Dave Fairall. They also had three impressive victories.
