Pelynt A entertained Rowett B and gave them a nasty moment or two. Malcolm Taper and Mike Pengelly gave last years cup runners up a 2-0 lead as they beat John Snowden and Tony Hogben, but back came Pelynt with Dean Haynes beating Darren Thomas, his nine tons not enough to stop his second defeat of the season.
Then Joan Geach handed Dennis Shaw only his second loss this season. Dave Nutts put the Rowett back in front beating Mark Palmer then Matt Johns hit back for Pelynt beating Antony Joslin. With the score at three all Pelynt ran out of steam and the Rowett won all three doubles to finish up 6-3 winners.
Last years cup winners went out as the Noughts visited the Rowett A and won 7-2. The Rowett put up a good fight although the singles went 4-2 with Jon Perry, Alan Moreton, Andy Grant and Jerry Jago winning for the Noughts whilst Mark Lewis and Kev Lee replied for the Rowett. The Noughts then won all three doubles to make the final score 7-2.
Pelynt B made it three out of the top four teams into the semi finals with a 5-1 victory over the Millhouse. Pelynt went 5-0 up through Max Facey, Stuart Gray, Baz Phillips, Nigel Davis and Martin Dunn. John Yaxley got the Mills point beating Rat Tamblyn 2-0.
The Legion join the above in the semis with a 7-2 win over the Ship B.
The Legion didn't have things all their own way as the scores were two all after four games Mick Curle and Bob Whitewood put the Legion up and Betty Turner and Maureen Brown levelled for the Ship. Dick Hinton and Paul Blower made it 4-2 and then the Legion took all three doubles.
The Charity doubles took place at the Ship Inn on Thursday the 20th and a good turnout witnessed Jason Mark and Andy Grant beat Malcolm Taper and Dave Nutty in the final. Taper and Nutty had reached the final by beating M Lewis and M Libby in the first round, George Wildman and Alan Winterson in the second, then Max Facey and Deano Dicks in the semis (Facey and Dicks had beaten last years winners Dunn and Tamblyn with a magnificent 154 finish from Facey) whilst the winners got there by beating Stuart Bulter and Ivor Williams in the first round, Nigel Davis and Baz Phillips in the second and then overcame Mike Pengelly and Dennis Shaw in the semi final.

Rearranged league matches - Caradon 1, 3 Pilchards 8; Ship A 5, Blue Peter 4.
Blue's first win in over three years
The last time the Blue Peter won was on the 24th of January 1997. That time their victims were the Ship B. Sixty-seven games on this time it was the Caradon Club. Things could not have started better for the Blue as Joe Sturgess, Vernon Oxley and Gill Bicknell all won over the distance against Bob Robinson, Arthur Curry and Maggie Robinson. The Caradon then took the next two as Peter Paris and Jim Svenson beat Terry Bicknell and Colin McCrae. Mark Redgrave beat Jim Turton to make the singles score 4-2 to the Blue and then they won the second doubles to give them that elusive victory.
Pelynt A entertained the Noughts and were as close to beating them as anyone has been all season. The inform Dean Haynes took out Cess Pethick 2-0. Jerry Jago levelled for the Noughts when he just overcame Joan Geach; Matt Johns put Pelynt back in front with a 2-0 win over Alan Moreton. The scores were levelled again as Andy Bryant took out John Snowden 2-0 again. Pelynt took the lead as Mark 'The Power' Palmer beat Jon Perry. Andy Grant pulled the Noughts level for the third time beating Tony Hogben 2-0. Pelynt then took the first doubles to go 4-3 up but the Noughts just kept their unbeaten record by winning the last two doubles and ran out 5-4 winners.
With Pelynt B's stablemates doing them a favour Pelynt let a golden opportunity slip as they won all six singles but dropped two of the three doubles to the never say die 3 Pilchards, over the last four games Pelynt have only dropped six points (five of those in doubles).
The Rowett A closed to within three points of the Noughts as they won 7-2 taking five singles and two of the doubles against the Ship B.
The Rowett B kept pace with the leaders as they also won 7-2 after coming back from 2-1 down against the Ship A.
