The first matches of the new Millennium saw leaders Tavistock Hotel visit Callington CC and win the team games 2-1. Tavy then took five singles through Jean Jacob, Shelia Liddicott, Pauline Courtis, Caroline Hammond and Sue Helcoop. Cricket Club took just two through Elsie Abbott and Jo Hughes and they went down 7-3.

Second placed Callington SC travelled to meet Union Inn. They led 2-1 after the team games and then took five singles through Nicky McCabe, Wendy Lloyd, Angela Howard, Theresa Parr and Phyl Freeman. Union took two singles through Claire Robins and Brenda Pethick to go down 7-3.

The unpredictable Coryton Arms played host to Gunnislake SC A. They began well enough, taking the team games 2-1. They then managed only two singles through Lindsay Nicholls and Tania Bradford. Gunny fought back, taking five through Pam Southcott, Pat Davis, Margeret Stidwell, Sheila Pearce and Kitty Startup to come from behind for a 6-4 win.

Stoke Climsland SC A had Bulls Head as they visitors. Bulls started brilliantly, taking all three team games. They then took four singles through Sandie Mallett, Rose Dawe, Shelia Moss-Baker and Hayley Gillett. Stoke too three through Lyn Coumbe, Maureen Webber and Y Hoare to go down 7-3.
