Are you a dangerous dad or a muddy mum?

Both feature in a movement that began in Devon and is coming to Saltash and Torpoint this half-term holiday.

The Dangerous Dads Network supports fathers’ groups across the UK and internationally. It was set up as a Totnes Children’s Centre project in 2007 and since has grown to support people who are looking to set up (or relaunch) a dads’ group where they live.

Free family events are being held on June 1 at Benodet Park, Thanckes Park, Torpoint, and June 2 in St Stephen’s Primary School, Saltash (both from 10am to 3pm).

Forest School leader and Dangerous Dads co-ordinator Ian Blackwell said: ‘People will be spotting wildlife and mini-beasts, learning how to take great photos, doing some “silly science” experiments, making shelters and learning some bushcraft skills. No booking is required – just pop along on the day. It’s open to everyone – children aged under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.’
