Jason Thomas, one of Cornwall’s best known dance teachers, will take the helm of the Cornwall Festival of Dance at this year’s Royal Cornwall Show (June 8 to 10).

He takes over the reins from Paul White and Sally Hamlyn who were instrumental in setting the dance festival up in 2003. The first year the feature ran just on the show’s final day but the following year expanded to all three days.

Jason has a long, successful dance career and Jason Thomas Performing Arts run dance classes at several locations across Cornwall.

Next to the Flower Show marquee, the Cornwall Festival of Dance stage offers a full programme of dance acts throughout the show’s three-day run.

The line-up of acts set to perform range from traditional to contemporary dance styles. The Pamela Darlington School of Dance, Tribal Fire, Hevva, Raffidy Dummits and Celtic dance group, Ros Keltek, are among the groups taking to the stage.

Morris dancing sides are set to perform at the dance festival but will also take to the showground’s avenues on the Saturday to entertain show-goers.
