Controversial plans to build a huge Celtic cross beside the Tamar Bridge are a step closer to becoming a reality following support from the head of Cornwall Council and the co-founder of the Eden Project.
At a press conference in Saltash Guildhall, Cornwall Council's chief executive Kevin Lavery and Eden's Tim Smit backed proposals to revamp Elwell Woods, which has been closed for almost 50 years and is overgrown and neglected.
