On a very hot day, Boconnoc did well to contain Newquay to 194-7 in this re-arranged game with Brotherwood 4-48, Trump 2-54, the pick of the bowlers. Although Cook made 38, the visitors were in trouble at 99-4 but a stand of 87 for the fifth wicket between Ian Rowse (60) and Richard Isbell (24 n.o.) took them to the brink of victory which was finally achieved by five wickets with seven balls to spare.
