The first episode of the Steve Jeffery Show began with the experienced South Petherwin Seconds opener achieving immunity from dismissal by a Callington side which did not believe in holding catches but did ensure that slack bowling was common. The wily old trouper cashed in to lead his side to a big win.
A sharp 'lifter' which injured Callington keeper Steve Lees behind the stumps did not prevent Lees the batsman from top scoring - before rushing to hospital! - His side's reply was as abject as its fielding.
