Cricket- County Division Seven (East)
Callington IV v South Petherwin II
Sunday saw the second part of the S. J. Show as the re-arranged return took place in brilliant sunshine. Callington still lost the toss and fielded but fielded well, often very well: They only dropped the catches which really mattered! Steve Jeffery thus proceded to another century before his side posted another big score.
This time, however, the Ivies batted with zest for the task and benefitted from contributions right through the order. Sadly, several players were out just as they seemed set and, on the day, the visitors' total was just too many.
Scores - South Petherwin 225-4 (S.Jeffery 112, P. Davey 16, L. Blake 59, D. Tilley 17 n.o., D. Penprase 2-54) Callington 205 (K. Borlase 38, Sam Graber 24, N. Horsman 19, K. Wenmoth 20, P. Sykes 45, T. Hill 20, I. Searle 3-59, D. Tilley 4-14).
South Petherwin (20 points) beat Callington (7) by 20 runs.
