Tintagel v Liskeard

On a very humid afternoon, Tintagel won the toss and asked the visitors to bat. Once again Vince and Hyslop gave Liskeard a steady start, putting on 56 when Vince was out for 34. Rowe joined Hyslop and after he played himself in, started hitting the ball to all corners of the ground.

Needing a score of around 200 the chase was on with instructions from the skipper quite clear to get a move on. Hyslop went for a solid 37 and Rowe for 35. Enter Andy Miles who was a little upset on being dropped down the order. He proved a point with a superb knock of 47 not out in double-quick time, Liskeard reaching their target of 202 for six off their allotted 48 overs.

After the interval, Tintagel started the chase. Rowe had S Parsons caught by Young with the score on 15, then Brown and T Parsons put on 63 for the second wicket with the latter being bowled by Vince for 32 - all his runs coming in boundaries. S Brown kept his side in it until he was bowled by Rowe for a brilliant 75.

Liskeard kept chipping away at the home side's batsmen Tintagel being bowled out for 154. Rowe returned great figures taking 7-35 off 11.2 overs, gaining his side another useful 20 points.
