Whilst travelling to the ground, heavy showers made it seem like the trip could be in vain.
However, Liskeard reached their destination and it was a different picture, with no rain and a pitch that was perfectly playable. St Stephens won the toss and asked the visitors to bat. Liskeard soon lost Hyslop for five, then Miles joined Vince and they enjoyed a good partnership of 48. This came to end when Vince thought he had been bowled, decided to go for a wander and was stumped for another great opening knock of 43.
Skews joined Miles and enjoyed some good fortune, having a run-out turned down and then being dropped three times, while at the other end Miles was batting with real authority.
Skews eventually ran out of luck and was caught and bowled by Cocks for 20. Mikes kept the score ticking until he was eventually out for a superb 86, with the score finishing of 197 for seven.
St Stephens started the chase but lost M Teague, bowled by Rowe for nine. J Sweet joined S Coogan and batted really sensibly until Sweet was run out by Skews for 23.
Coogan reached a well-deserved 50 but was eventually bowled by Vince for 58. Runs were needed quickly for the home side to take the pressure off, but they weren't exactly in abundance. Collett was caught by Skews off Rowe for 26, and then Panther had M Trudgeon caught for 17. B Parkinson was run out again by Skews for one, and it was left to Hart and Best to see the home side to their target of 199 for six with five balls to spare.
