Liskeard started their league programme on Saturday with the short trip to Fowey. The outfield wasn't at its best due to some drainage work being done in the winter.

On winning the toss Liskeard asked the home side to bat first, with Vince and Young quickly getting into their stride for the visitors keeping the run rate down whilst whipping away at the top order with A and R Bennetts the only batsmen to reach double figures the latter ending on a steady 44 not out with the total 111 for nine wickets.

Adrian Vince was the pick of the bowling with 14 overs, 5 maidens, four for 29.

Liskeard started their innings in the same fashion scoring quite slowly but as long as they batted out the overs the game should be theirs. But some very honest umpiring by the visitors saw them fall short of the target by seven runs, not many sides would have been quite so generous, with only A Vince 18, D Skews 16 and M Rowe 15 the only ones to reach double figures.

The pick of the home bowling was Mears five for 30 and A Bennetts three for 28.
