The draw for this season's Clive Rosevear Insurance Hawkey Cup Knock Out Competition sees defending champions Callington start at Menheniot. If successful they face a visit to Trevone in a repeat of last season's final. The tie of the first round is at Grampound Road who face fellow County Division 1 new boys St. Blazey with a second round trip to Launceston awaiting the winners. St. Austell following a first round bye entertain St. Minver who are newly promoted to County Division 2.

For the first time this year a plate competition is being organised for the losing teams in the opening rounds.
This year's Cornwall Cricket Yearbook "Cricket in Cornwall 2000" is due for publication on or about the 15th April. It will again contain a comprehensive review of last season from the County Club and Jolly's Drinks Cornwall League to Youth and Schools cricket. Additionally there is an expanded history / records section, directory, articles, photographs and detailed fixtures section including First Class games as well as the local games.
The book is again of 288 A5 pages and the Cornwall Cricket Board has frozen the price for the 3rd successive year at £ 3 per copy (£4 including p/p) - Cheques payable to the "Cornwall Cricket Board").
