On November 30 it became law that any drone weighing more than 250g up to 20kg must be registered and anyone who uses a drone must also register as a pilot.
If you own a drone you must register with the CAA and get an ‘Operator ID’, which must be displayed on your drone. This costs £9 (irrespective of how many drones you register). You must also be over 18 to do this.
If you fly a drone (even if using or borrowing a friend’s) you must register as a pilot and get a ‘Flyer ID’.
