Cornwall Council staff will be swapping their desks for treadmills at County Hall in Truro tomorrow (May 26) as they take part in a virtual run from Land’s End to Bude to help raise money for Kernow Young Carers.

Fourteen members of staff from across the council will be running the equivalent of 88 miles on three treadmills loaned by Tempus Leisure during the event which has been organised by the Young Carers Fundraising Committee.

The ’Run for Young Carers’ event will be formally launched by Andrew Wallis, the Council’s cabinet member, at 9.30 am.  Staff will then take in in turns to run on the treadmill to help meet the £500 fund raising target set by the committee.

Members of the fund raising committee will be supporting the event with donation buckets, and people can also donate money online at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Cornwall
