Now in its 15th year, Cornwall Christmas Box would love as many people who can to get involved by donating boxes of food to make a Christmas feast for local families in need.
The concept of Cornwall Christmas Box is simple: download the list of non-perishables to include, shop for the items, package it all up in a festive box then drop it off at one of the many collection points throughout the county.
Each box contains enough non-perishable food for Christmas dinner for a family of four to six plus a few little extra treats, with a typical box costing around £30 to fill.
The boxes are collected by the charity and distributed to local families in need through Cornwall Council’s social services team.
Last year the charity collected a record 257 boxes, helping to feed up to 1,500 people.
Started by Truro Vineyard Church, this scheme has gone from a localised charitable initiative to a county-wide festive act.
With collection points spanning the entire county, the final collection date for this year is December 12.
