Skateboarders spotted
on Tamar Bridge
PROBLEMS with skateboarders on the Tamar bridge were highlighted at the latest Saltash town council meeting.
Councillor Steve Tait told the meeting that he saw the pedestrian lane of the bridge, situated on one of the new cantilevers, being used by the skaters.
He said: 'I saw four boys using the pedestrian lane on the day the bridge opened and the day after. I can see why the kids have used the lane. They obviously saw the opportunity to use the lane and took it. But this is not what the lane was designed for and it could be very dangerous.'
Police said they would look into this and several other skateboarding incidents.
