Mechanical horse

to visit school

TRIGGER, the mechanical horse, is to visit schoolchildren at Fowey primary school on June 4, as part of a national riding festival.

The festival, to run from June to the end of August has Prince Anne as president, and is designed to encourage 200,000 new and lapsed horse riders to take up the reins.

Trigger, who will appear at Fowey primary along with an instructor from St Veep riding stables, responds to a rider on his back. He will appear along with a 'Horse Power Pack' which meets the science and literacy requirements of the national curriculum.

Jim landed beside him and pulled him safely from the wreckage.

A friend nominated him, as a result of his bravery, to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) who made him a finalist in their General Aviation Safety Awards.

At the ceremony last week, Jim was presented with the runners up award of a silver medal and a framed certificate.
