Kit Hill snack

bar is approved

AN application to replace an unauthorised snack bar at Kit Hill, Callington with a permanent tea room/cafe, has been approved.

Council officers had said the development would harm the character of the area, but councillor Tony Knott felt it would be beneficial to tourists and visitors to Kit Hill. The plan, by Mr D Skilling, was given the backing of the planning sub committee (east) by 15 votes to one, but had to gain approval from the full council meeting as it went against officer recommendation. This vote, which included conditions, was 31-5.
