A depleted Dobwalls travelled to their Claypit country rivals for this important cup tie and straight from ther kick-off the home side took the lead. They extended their advantage from a corner although the ball appeared to have gone out of play only to be headed back across goal where it was converted.

On the half hour Dobwalls reduced the deficit when they were awarded a penalty. Goalie Karl Roberts stepped up to take the kick but his opposite number guessed right and pushed the ball away. An alert Martin Polatch followed up and scored. Just before the break Roberts levelled from the penalty spot. St Stephens were reduced to 10 men when a player elbowed an opponent in the face.

Dobwalls took the lead early in the second half after a fine run by Steve Green, his cross being volleyed in by Simon Fisher. The home side despite their disadvantage piled forward and were soon winning by two clear goals.

Martin Polatch reduced the deficit with a well taken goal but despite hitting the woodwork late on they couldn't score the goal needed to push the game into extra time. Martin Polatch received the Dobwalls man of the match award for a hard working performance.
