Despite getting lost on the journey down Pelynt soon found their way in this Junior cup tie against Newmoor.
With an injury and absence hit side most teams would have turned up expecting to be on the end of a cricket score, but these thoughts were not on the minds of the players on display.
From the off they were sub-jected to a barrage of attacks from the home side, but after 15 minuutes Pelynt steadied the ship and started to play their own brand of 'sexy' football yet they were limited to chances from Phil Hearnden and Eddie Johns who both narrowly missed and went into the interval all square.
The half time team talk made Pelynt all the more determined to cause an upset. Pelynt's first goal came when Robbie Petrie latched onto a ball from the midfield and superbly lobbed the advancing keeper to put Pelynt one up.
The second arrived when Eddie Johns sprinted down the right wing and shot only for the keeper to parry to James Smith who rifled home his first ever goal
But then in classic Pelynt fashion they conceded a penalty when Simon 'Chopper' Hall brought down the Newmoor striker and the penalty was neatly put away to make the score 1.2.
The last 15 minutes were 'nip and tuck' but Pelynt survived due to resolute defending to go into the draw for the next round. A just reward for the most complete Pelynt performance for years.
