This was a game which Saints should have wrapped up within the 15 minutes, but instead they went behind, equalised, allowed the game to move into extra time, took the lead and eventually lost with the last kick of the match. 'Frustration' was the word on many people's lips come the final whistle.

Both teams struggled hard to put their games together during heavy showers. It was the visitors who took the lead when Collins latched on to a loose ball in the box to fire Saints in front. Further chances came and went for St Cleer before a breakaway and a shot from the outside of the area beat Rylatt in the visitor's goal. Further pressure from St Cleer failed to translate into goals and it was the home side who got their noses in front when another long shot took a wicked deflection to nestle in the back of the net. However, St Cleer regained parity when Collins again made space for himself to fire home from inside the box.

The scores remained level at 2-2 until half-time, and despite a slight reshuffle which saw Saints introducing Reynolds after his long lay-off, they failed to turn their superiority into goals in the second half and with Roberts coming on for the injured Woolfe, the match reached full time with no further goals.

Within the first five minutes of extra time, Saints had regained the lead when Roberts broke free to notch his first ever goal for Saints, scoring well past the advancing 'keeper. However, once again they were unable to hold firm as a unit and yet another long shot found it's way into the back of the net. The last period of extra time continued in the same vein until the final whistle, when a superb shot from way out before Rylatt.

The visitors went off in a somewhat despondent mood as they had created chances and restricted the home side to long-range shooting. Saints were unable to influence the scoreboard and from just four shots on target, Barley scored four. The end result- St Cleer sit out the rest of the Junior Cup.
