For Liskeard every game appears to be a cup final as teams raise their game against the League leaders. It was much the case at Broadclose on Saturday as Bude proved doubty opponents and in the first half often had the better of Liskeard.

Yet is was the visitors who struck first when a weak shot from Lee Maddock struck a defender on the shin and the ball deflected past stranded Bude goalkeeper Darren Johns.

But just before the break some neat one-touch football from Bude led to Steve Smeeth having a shot blocked but he re-acted first to the loose ball and found the top corner for the equaliser.

Bude were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Nigel Barriball was sent off but the seasiders regrouped and defending well they frustrated Liskeard.
