BRITISH Telecom is going to look into moving three telegraph poles after a new cycle path was built around them.
The path, which runs along the A390 near Kit Hill, Callington, was completed two weeks ago and a sign states that the route has been designated for use by cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders.
Despite this, the poles remain in the middle of the path which has led to worries about the possibility of accidents.
Cllr Jim Flashman, who lives near the path, built as part of a World Heritage Site project, said: 'Somebody could quite easily come off the kerb to go around them and end up in the main road. I think that unless something is done soon there will be a collision along here.'
He says that there is space for passers-by to get around but adds that this would cause them to collide with anyone coming onto the path from their home.
A spokesman for BT said: 'The network that we have there was in place before the path was built and if those poles did need to be removed then we would expect to receive a formal application from the authority concerned.'
The spokesman added: 'In view of the safety concerns raised, we are now going to investigate moving these poles.'
