Metal detectors have been issued to two nightclubs in a drive to make clubs safer and remove weapons from the streets.

Door staff at The Admiral Boscarn, Looe and Cornish Ivy, Liskeard are the first to be issued with the devices in Devon and Cornwall.

It is hoped the move, which follows hand-held metal detectors being issued to patrol officers in Liskeard and Looe, will reduce the fear of violent crime in the area.
