LANSALLOS Church will be launching it's fire restoration appeal with the help of local bishop, the Rt Rev Roy Screech. The church suffered around £100,000 worth of damage from the blaze that tore through the church on Saturday, February 26, and so will be conducting a special service to launch the appeal. The service, which will start at 2.30pm on Saturday, April 23, in the Church of St Ildierna, Lansallos, will see the Rt Rev Screech taking the address, with the Arch Deacon of Bodmin, the Venerable Clive Cohen, conducting the service. Local dignitaries and officials have been invited, all of who are interested in seeing the medieval building restored to its former glory. A programme of fundraising events throughout April has already been devised, including bingo on Thursday 28 at the British Legion Hall, Polperro, and a coffee morning in the Methodist Hall, Polperro, on Saturday 30.
