St Nicholas and St Faith Church held an exhibition to mark the 125th anniversary of the church as a parish – although the church is about 900 years old. The exhibition included photographs and memorabilia depicting life in the parish over the 125 years and the oldest parish magazines dating from 1894 to 1904, which had been bound into books. The vicar at that time, the Rev W H Pryor, in the July 1943 magazine thanked the band of people who had worked in the early hours of the Sunday morning from 5am to clear the dust and rubble in time for the first service at 8am and he particularly mentioned Ernest Pooley of Saltash Wesley Church who had helped get the church cleared of rubble. Other exhibits included various aspects of the life of the church: the Sunday school, the bell ringers, the choir, the Operatic and Dramatic Society, social events, the fishing community and Mission Church of the Good Shepherd at Waterside, weddings, christenings, and festivals of the church. There were wine making and lace making and church embroidery exhibits, and displays involving the life of the parish, such as Saltash Ladies' Choir, and wood turning. Floral displays by members of the church and Saltash Flower Club added to the fine and fascinating exhibition. Proceeds from the exhibition will go towards the restoration programme to keep the building in good repair and also to provide disabled access.
