Liskerret Male Voice Choir members say they are heading for good times with new conductor, Judith Pinguey.

Among other engagements in this part of the year the choir will be hosting a concert in The International Male Voice Choir Festival, which will be taking place from Thursday, April 27 to Monday, May 1.

Liskerret members will be in action on Saturday, April 29, in the Liskeard Public Rooms with the Czech Gentlemen Singers, as well as The Westerton Male Voice Choir and The Tamar Valley Singers.

Before that, on St Piran’s Eve – Saturday, March 4 – a celebration of Cornwall and Cornish music is planned at The Highwayman Inn in Dobwalls.

Organisers say: ‘Get dressed in your Cornish gear, bring your flags and prepare to have fun and sing in St Piran’s Day in great company.’

Meanwhile, the choir has welcomed several new members to swell its ranks.

The choir rehearses on Monday nights at The Royal British Legion, Liskeard, from 7.30pm, when anybody interested in singing is welcome.
