THE Callington singers received a very warm welcome when they held a concert at Carclaze Methodist Chapel, St Austell during October. The choir, Musical Director Graham Williams, Assistant Director Jill Quilliam and Organist Jenny Coombe all combined to give a concert of anthems and madrigals. The programme spanned the years from Elizabethan times with Thomas Morley's 'Now is the month of maying', to the present day with John Rutter's 'The Lord bless you and keep you.' The performance concluded with `A Gaelic blessing' also by John Rutter which has become something of a signature piece for the singers.
