A PRIEST who was seen worldwide leading the prayers for the trapped Chilean miners has been revealed as a former postman from Par.

The Rev Alfredo Cooper is now chaplain to the Chilean president and led the prayers at the La Moneda presidential palace for the 33 men.

He was seen by TV viewers worldwide as he also conducted a thanksgiving service when the miners were found and visited the men in hospital following their rescue.
