BRETT Baxter, a keen Triumph motorbike enthusiast from Torpoint, will be setting off on the adventure of a lifetime when he will ride from Lands End to John O'Groats in aid of Tamar Historic Transport Club's charities. The first half of the journey will be taken on a 1958 Triumph Bonneville 12OR Tangerine Dream, which will celebrate its 46th birthday the day they leave, on Saturday, October 23. The return leg will be taken a 2004 Triumph Thruxton Bonneville, celebrating old and new motorbikes. Geoff Kerby, a former motorbike racer, will drive the support van. It is hoped that the journey will raise thousands for the Primrose Appeal, Cornwall Air Ambulance, The Hay Trust, and oxygen equipment at St James Rd Surgery Torpoint, which will save lives by cutting response time of ambulances having to cross the ferry.
