OUTDOOR nativity scenes created from logs, boulders and even Lego bricks will be on display in South East Cornwall from today (Friday).

The ‘crib tour’, which runs until January 6, is being launched at Sheviock Church and features 20 scenes made by people in Sheviock, Crafthole and Portwrinkle.

The nativities have been crafted to support Water Aid’s work in Syria, where many people affected by the civil war are living without a safe supply of drinking water.

Congregation member Jeffrey Dutt is behind the idea. He was inspired by al fresco nativities he saw during a trip to Switzerland.

Jeffrey has built his own nativity from logs in his garden and says he had a great response when he put the idea forward.
