Gables Farm Dogs and Cats Home will be holding their annual Summer Fair and hosting the Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year regional heat on Saturday, July 28. The event will be held on their site at Merafield Road near Saltram House, Plymouth, with gates opening at 11am for a day full of canine capers.
The Scruffts heat will consist of six classes at £2 each; Golden Oldie Crossbreed, Child’s Best Friend, Prettiest Crossbreed Bitch, Most Handsome Crossbreed Dog, Good Citizen Dog Scheme Crossbreed Class and Best Crossbreed Rescue. The winner of each class will be entered into the semi-final at Discover Dogs to compete for a place in the Grand Final at Crufts for the overall accolade of the Scruffts Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year.
There will be lots of activities on the day for all of the family. There will be a fun family dog show including classes such as; Best Behaved Pedigree Puppy, Best Fancy Dress, Most Appealing Eyes, Waggiest Tail and many more. Entries will be taken on the day at a cost of £1.50 per class.
There will also be stalls selling a variety of crafts, books, jewellery, bric-a-brac, sweets and ice-creams. There will also be a tombola, a raffle and refreshments including homemade cakes, tea and coffee.
