A packed Millpool Centre in West Looe enjoyed a Christmas carol concert in aid of Looe Lifeboats.
Led by musical director, John Trethewey with accompanist Barry Jay, the Pelynt Male Voice Choir and Ladies Christmas Choir performed popular carols and songs, some selected by the 80-strong audience, on a Christmas theme.
Unfortunately, the master of ceremonies and Looe RNLI Chaplain the Reverend Philip Sharp was unwell and could not attend. However, members of the choir filled the role, as well as telling some amusing jokes in between carols.
Mulled wine and mince pies were served in the interval, whilst the raffle took place.
Allan Newman, chair of the Looe RNLI fund-raising committee welcomed everyone and thanked the Pelynt Male Voice Choir and the Ladies Christmas Choir for their support.
He said: ‘As always this promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening and will help raise funds for our organisation, the primary role of which is to save lives at sea.
’For those with the fortitude I would like to remind you of our New Year’s Day swim which will take place from East Looe beach at 10am on New Year’s Day.’
