CARADON Hockey Club were presented with the 'Junior Club of the Year' accolade at this year's Cornwall Sports Awards ceremony, organised by the Cornwall Sports Partnership.

The annual event, held for the second year at The Atlantic Hotel in Newquay, welcomed more than 200 attendees from across the county, including special guests such as former England rugby captain Phil de Glan-ville and Team GB athlete Mark Lewarne.

Since forming, the junior section now boasts more than 60 members, from seven to 16 years old.

During this time, Caradon's youngsters have competed in various regional competitions in different age groups.

Training is held at Lux Park Leisure Centre, Liskeard, on Wednesday evenings, from 6.00-7.00 pm and is run by a group of volunteer qualified coaches.
