Caradon Swimming Club does it again!

The Club Junior team excelled itself once again at the weekend swimming at Carn Brea Swimming Pool in the County Junior Inter Club Competition against strong teams - from as far away as Penzance.

Despite the strength of the opposition Caradon fought their way through to the final round, which will be swum on June 12th.

Swimmers were on peak form after strenuous efforts in recent weeks of training under the expert guidance of coach Simon Ashton, who has been keeping them hard at it so as to be ready for the competitions during the summer.

Elizabeth Watkins, Douglas Cooke, Mariesa Newman and Nick Wadland in the Butterfly; Helen Parritt, Alan Luff and Michael Harvey in the Backstroke; Claire-Louise Moore, Anna Luff and Steven Fearn in the Freestyle and Douglas Cooke, Helen Parritt and James Flanaghan in the Breaststroke.

Particularly good performances came from Steven Fearn, Helen Parritt and Anna Luff who all knocked four seconds off their 50 metre times- quite an achievement. Nick Wadland, however, did best of all, achieving the extremely fast time of only 36.47 seconds for his 50 metres Butterfly. This feat is another National Qualifying time for Nick, enabling him to compete representing Cornwall and Club at National events - well done!
