Caradon Swimming Club's youngsters picked up four silver and two bronze medals, as well as recording personal best (PB) times across the board, during

the first weekend of the Cornwall County Championships, held at Bodmin.

The girls opened this year's county competition with the 800-metre freestyle, which saw Caja Parkes (who has only recently turned 11) taking part in her first competitive swim over this distance.

She swam an excellent race and held 43-44 seconds for each 50 metre, turning at the halfway mark in a new 400-metre PB time of 5.52.56 and eventually finishing fourth in a time of 11.46.05.
