An opportunity to use a variety of different media, excluding oils, such as pastels, pen and inks, watercolours and pencils, gouache and wax crayons. Students may choose one medium such as watercolours, and work in this for the whole course if they wish. Please bring any materials and equipment which you already have to the taster when full details of what will be required for the course will be available.

This course is for total beginners and those with some experience of needlework. Developing your own ideas you will learn to use colour and fabric to best effect to create a wall hanging or quilt. A variety of techniques will be employed to create stars using English and American style patchwork and up-to-date innovative methods. Full details at the Taster.
CC202 PATCHWORK AND QUILTING -
'Cottages and Castles'

For beginners and those with some experience. You will create a wall hanging, cushion or quilt centre from a photograph, sketch or imagination. Recreate your dream cottage/castle/stately home - or perhaps someone else's. As well as patchwork, you will paint, stencil and print fabric. Please bring the following to the first session: plain paper, pencil, pen, ruler, photos/postcards/drawings/magazine cut-outs etc. Prior enrolment essential.
CC203 SUGARCRAFT - Beginners

Free Taster: Monday 13 Sept - 7.00 pm
Come along and learn the basic skills of sugarcraft in a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere. Learn how to make flowers with and without cutters, make your own template, assemble a spray and a basket arrangement, use colours and ribbons etc. We shall also cover cakes with marzipan and sugarpaste and decorate using crimpers and stencils.
